RELIGIOUS EDUCATION - CATECHESIS

"The parish remains [...] the pre-eminent place for catechesis. It must rediscover its vocation, which is to be a fraternal and welcoming family home, where those who have been baptized and confirmed become aware of forming the People of God." (Apostolic Exhortation of John Paul II Catechesi tradendae, 67)

Currently, our parish sacramental catechesis is carried out in preparation for First Holy Communion and for Confirmation.

First Communion

For First Holy Communion are being prepared the children who are at least 8 year old.

Meetings are held at the basement of the Parish Office (entrance through the parish hall) or in the church. We ask parents also to attend Mass at 12 noon with their children.

Date of the First Holy Communion: to be announced.

Confirmation

The Confirmation prepares young people who are over 12 year old.
Those who wish to join preparation for the confirmation we ask to contact our Parish Office in September. Preparations start at the beginning of October.

Candidates for the confirmation have to be:
1) baptized
2) at least 12 year old or older
3) parishioners of the Holy Trinity Parish in Montreal
4) willing to undergo preparation and receive sacrament of confirmation.

Required documents:
1) baptismal certificate (if candidate was not baptized in our parish)
2) cofirmation of being our parishioner ("Parish Book") or permission of the pastor of the parish he/she belongs to.

Confirmation classes are held at the basement under Parish Office (entrance through the parish hall).
